Debut of the RFME Enduro Junior Team-GRO in the Enduro World Championship

Mireia Badia, leader of the Women’s championship; podium for Bernat

The Enduro World Championship kicked off this past weekend in Marco de Canaveses (Portugal), with the full participation of the RFME Enduro Junior Team with its 4 riders, Bernat Cortés, Adrià Sánchez, Julio Pando and David Riera as well as the 3 riders of the RFME Enduro Women Team, Mireia Badia, Kate Vall and Julia Calvo.

In the women’s category, Mireia Badia was third on Saturday and first on Sunday, winning her first World Championship race and leaving Portugal with the leader’s badge.

Bernat Cortés put in a great performance on Saturday with a second position in Junior2 and a crash on Sunday that put him down to eighth place in the two days.

According to Iván Cervantes, team manager:“It has been a weekend of ups and downs. We have obtained good results, but we have to keep working to improve and to keep the riders on target. We are already looking forward to the second round of the season, which will be held from 25 to 27 June in Italy”.
